About
MicroFinance
First of all, sociology is the study of social interaction—how
society works as a result of working together. It is finding
out how and why we act, based on how we see others act. MicroFinance
attempts to empower the impoverished by encouraging capitalist
entrepreneurship. Often MF uses social capital/collateral
in lieu of hard collateral.
More

Don’t
forget, Sociology is a science and is based on measurable
evidence. Some data may be concrete like from surveys and
census data. Some data are softer, and acquired through interviews
and focus groups. And some can only be obtained through “living
with the tribes” or developing relationships with key
informants.
We may use all these techniques to gain further understanding
of social phenomena, and hopefully better the lives of people.
